Bracknell forest work injuries on the increase
Over 200 people suffered a work related injury in Bracknell forest last year, resulting in 260 work days lost due to these injuries.
The investigation carried out by Bracknell forest council discovered that the number of work injuries has risen from last year’s number of 156. Over the same period this year council officers were called to 236 accidents and dangerous incidents in workplaces.
These numbers can be broken down into 43 workers having to be taken to hospital and 83 having to take three days or more of work due to their injury.
A Bracknell council worker explained the reason for the increase is due to the fact that “there has been an increase since last year because more people are aware of the legal requirement to report accidents.”
The council are now aiming to increase educational awareness of the dangers in the workplace, also as a result of the increase 47 informal improvement notices were handed out and just four formal improvement notices were handed out.
