Toddler killed in crash
A toddler has been killed in a car accident, it has been revealed.
The 23 months old died after being hit by a 4x4 vehicle on the Blackstaff Road in Clough, County Down.
The victim’s family released a statement saying that their daughter was with her uncle and aunt during the time of the crash and asked for privacy to mourn their loss. A neighbour has said that the mum was ‘paralysed by shock’ after the news.
A woman who was with the infant was treated in hospital for personal injury and whiplash. It is unknown if she will file a whiplash claim.
The driver of the vehicle was also treated for whiplash injuries and for shock after the devastating collision. SDLP councillor, said that the girl’s death was a “terrible tragedy.”
Police have appealed for any witnesses and are continuing their investigations into the circumstances surrounding the dreadful accident.
