Car crash results in whiplash
The driver and three passengers in a car suffered serious personal injury when the vehicle they were travelling crashed into a ditch.
All the four members involved in the car accident, which took place near York, had a very lucky escape, according to local police.
The accident took place when the car ended up in ditch at the side of the B1316, between Stillington and Brandsby, at 11.20am and all of he occupants had to be cut from the wreckage by emergency services.
A 44-year-old man, who is said to be a resident of York, suffered a broken arm and whiplash. He was taken to York Hospital by air ambulance.
There were three other males also travelling with him in the car who were freed from the wreckage of the silver Nissan GTR with minorinjuries. One of them also suffered whiplash.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service said: “The car had gone into a tree and the occupants said they couldn’t get out of the vehicle.
“Crews from Acomb and Easingwold used two sets of hydraulic equipment to effect the release of the people.”
It is unknown if whiplash claims will be filed.Updated on 11/05/2010
