Man suffers whiplash in five car accident
A man has been taken to hospital with whiplash and possible neck and spinal injuries after a five car accident.
The crash took place on the A140 near Mendlesham this morning shortly before 8.30am.
As a result of the accident, the North bound carriageway was closed for two hours while emergency services worked tirelessly to bring order to the chaos caused by the incident.
It was reported that the crash involved a black Mazda, a silver Vauxhall Astra, a white Peugeot 306, a blue Honda Civic and a blue 306.
A spokesman for the police department issued a statement saying that the man's personal injury are not thought to be serious.
Firefighters from Stowmarket, Elmswell, Ispwich and Debenham had to be called to the scene of the car accident to work on the rescue effort.
It is unknown if the man will file a whiplash claim.Updated on 26/04/2010
