Man suffers whiplash and broken leg in accident

A pedestrian who was hit by a car stolen minutes earlier, has been taken to hospital with whiplash claim injuries.

The Vauxhall Astra was taken from a house in Stockport by a man armed with a knife on Saturday night.

The car was stolen from a 59-year-old man, who found a man armed with a knife at his home on St Austell Drive in Heald Green.

Ten minutes later, the Astra mounted the pavement and hit the 46-year-old man.

The man suffered a broken leg and whiplash in the car accident but police said his personal injury could have been far worse.
