Three victims suffer whiplash injuries after road accident
Three people were rushed to hospital after a car accident in Cannock.
Two men and a woman suffered seatbelt and whiplash injuries after a vehicle smashed into another at the junction of Heath Bank Road and Crab Lane.
West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson Suzie Fothergill said: "On arrival at the scene, crews found two cars that had been in collision.
"Two men and a woman were treated on the scene for seatbelt and whiplash injuries. It is believed that one man was travelling in the first vehicle, and the other two casualties were travelling in the second car at the time of the incident.
"Both men were spinal boarded as a precaution and all three patients were conveyed to Stafford Hospital for further assessment and treatment."
The cause of the accident is currently unknown.
Meanwhile, as well as buckling a seatbelt once getting into a car, motorists are being advised to adjust the headrest.
Reports have revealed that headrests are one of the most overlooked safety features in a vehicle.
Stefanie Hay, an insurance and claims expert at Aviva Canada said: "Headrests are designed to work alongside the seatbelt so that when an accident occurs it prevents the head from twisting backwards, which subsequently results in whiplash."
