Driver’s ‘amazing’ escape
A female driver had an ‘amazing’ escape from a major car accident, after her car hit the central reservation of the M61 and collided with another vehicle.
Sgt Malcolm Bell, from Lancashire Motorway Police, said: “The woman received minor injuries and has been very lucky indeed. It’s amazing that she managed to escape relatively unharmed.”
The 32-year-old motorists lost control of her silver Volkswagen Polo, as she was travelling along the north-bound carriageway of the M61.
The car was in the third lane and hit the central reservation and rebounded into a blue Renault Clio travelling in the second lane.
Both cars spun across the road and came to a halt. The female driver escaped with minor head and whiplash injury.
The female driver of the Renault Clio, who may file a whiplash claim, did not need hospital treatment.
