Student compensated after “traumatic experience”
A student has been compensated for a number of personal injuries after being involved in a car accident when commuting home from university two years ago.
The law student, who was 21 at the time of the accident, had been travelling home on the A40 after being hit by a speeding business truck who failed to stop at a traffic light.
As a result, the woman suffered from back and whiplash injuries and was unable to carry out her position at her weekend job in a DIY store for a number of weeks.
She said: “The whole experience was traumatic. I thought I was going to die.”
She was also unable to drive her vehicle claiming that she was “too scared.”
She said: “This accident came to me as a shock, the truck came out of nowhere and slammed right into me, the whole car moved forward and I had to climb out the window because the doors were jammed.”
The woman, who was left traumatised after believing she was going to die, filed a no win no fee claim against the truck driver’s firm. The claim was settled for £3,000.
