Rescued accident victim lucky to be alive
A man who was trapped in a lorry after a three-vehicle crash has admitted that he was only lucky to be alive.
Glenn Kirk, 31, was rescued by two men after the road accident on Whitby’s New Bridge. He was reportedly trapped in an Argos lorry after it collided with a Toyota Yaris and another vehicle.
Mr Kirk suffered ankle, neck and spinal injuries while the driver of the lorry suffered cuts, bruises and whiplash.
They were said to be delivering for Argos when the accident occurred.
The two passers-by saw the crash and stopped to help the victim before the arrival of fire-fighters.
In a separate development a car accident victim has been awarded compensation of more than £15,000.
The award followed the successful pursuance of his whiplash claim by his injury lawyers.
The amount was awarded in compensation for his injuries, cost of treatment, loss of income amongst other expenses.
