Family seek compensation over sickness suffered by child

In a public liability case, the family of a child who allegedly suffered sickness while on holiday are taking legal action in a bid to secure a compensation claim payout.

The little girl was on a vacation with her parents in Sarigerme, Turkey, two years ago when she was struck down with a stomach bug.

It is claimed that the six-year-old was ill for a total of three weeks as a result of the gastroenteritis she contracted. An infection of the stomach and intestines, the condition is highly infectious and its most common symptoms are diarrhoea and vomiting.

The family are among a number of holidaymakers who have sued the holiday company in a High Court Writ, which makes a number of allegations regarding the cleanliness of the resort.

The company is facing claims from hundreds of people who suffered food poisoning personal injury at the Turkish resort. All of the claims relate to stays between April and October 2008.
