Asbestos compensation delay

It has been revealed that the asbestos compensation claims for victims with asbestos has been delayed.

For over a year now ministers have delayed in their decision to pass motion that people with pleural plaques can earn compensation after legislation was cleared through the Commons last week.

As a result, a Yorkshire MP has criticised the Ministry of Justice for their lack of decision making skills.

It now passes into the House of Lords but with only a month to go before the end of the current parliamentary session, it is likely to run out of time to make it onto the statute book before the Queen's speech which opens the next session on November 18th.
