Liability insurance warning for landlords
Landlords that fail to take out liability insurance to protect workers in their second or holiday homes are creating a major problem for themselves, it has been revealed.
According to an insurance firm, liability insurance is a requirement for anyone running holiday home business and that one may face a huge fine or a prison sentence if there is an accident in which someone is injured at the property.
The insurance cover is needed to cover anyone, whether a cleaner or gardener, working on the rented property.
In the same vein, the firm reminded, visitors may make a compensation claim in the event of an incident and this underscores the importance of taking out public liability insurance.
Where there is no insurance cover to fall back on, owners of such property could be left with huge bills to pay victims who may sustain injuries as a result of trip and fall or any other reasons.
