Leeds City Council in compensation battle

A multi-million pound law suit is ready to be filed against Leeds City Council after a number of pile-ups left several commuters suffering from personal injuries, it has been revealed.

One 25 year old man had been left paralysed as a result of a car accident caused by an unexpected roundabout outside The Grammar School at Leeds.

Despite having had paid damages to motorists, according to a number of motor insurance providers, the council is negligent for the accidents as it had failed to place warning signs for the roundabout near the school.

The insurance providers claimed that drivers were not warned of queuing traffic which resulted in a significant number of collisions.

It was also stated that there is an accident black-spot where there is a bend in the road where vehicles usually crash into long traffic queues.

As a result, the insurers are claiming that the council should provide those involved in the accidents with compensation through a public liability claim.

However, the council does not admit liability.

A Leeds City Council spokesperson said: "We can confirm that the council is denying any liability for this accident and, as legal proceedings are currently ongoing, we are unable to comment further at this time."
