Confessions were made at the court that the place was owned by the businessman and that he had given it on lease to someone else but the pallet of tiles was owned by the businessmen himself.

Therefore the court came to the conclusion that the businessman was guilty for not considering the health and safety rules at the workplace which led to the accident and harmed the victim’s life for no fault of his own. And therefore he was fined a sum of £30,000 and asked to pay the compensation to the victim of £50,000 along with the expenses incurred which were a total of £25,000.

The business man was ordered to re pay an amount of £20,000 as the legal aid and was allotted the duration of 12 months to pay the fixed compensation claim failing which he will have to face prison for 18 months.
