Man hit by car while walking his dog awarded personal injury compensation
A man has been compensated with a five figure sum after he was knocked down as he walked his dog.
The man who is in his fifties, was almost across the road, close to his home, when a motorbike ran into the man and his dog, kitting it instantly and leaving the man with severe personal injuries.
The personal injury lawyer, who represented the man in his legal claim for compensation said: “My client suffered three fractures to his pelvis, a cracked right shoulder-blade, and a broken collar-bone."
She also added that: "He sustained deep cuts to his head and shoulder, a torn earlobe, internal bruising and several broken teeth, as well as numerous cuts and bruises to the rest of his body.”
The man was able to reach the side of the road but he then lost consciousness. He was taken to hospital where he underwent a full body x-ray and treatment to his fractures and also stitching to his head and ear. He stayed in for eleven days before he was discharged from hospital.
The personal injury lawyer concluded by saying: “Despite his sadness at losing his dog, my client is pleased with the damages awarded and now hopes to move on with his life."
The man was awarded with a compensation claim worth £60,000.
