Personal injury compensation for cyclist
In a recent case, a cyclist has been able to claim a considerable sum in personal injury compensation claims after a cycling accident in which he was in a collision from behind, being hit by a van.
He was cycling along a road, last summer, when he was suddenly hit from behind by a van whose driver was paying insufficient care to the road. He found himself thrown with great force from his bicycle, hitting the road and sustaining severe damage.
He was treated in a nearby hospital for a fractured elbow and superficial but significant damage to his arm wound, as well as extensive bruising to his body as a result of his personal injury. He was rushed by ambulance to hospital for first aid, following which; he was required to undergo physiotherapy as well as hydrotherapy even after the initial fracture had healed. This treatment was necessary for him to regain the use of his arm. This has, however, left him with ongoing discomfort. In addition to this, he has been left with a permanent scar from the surgery, and has also found cycling difficult as a direct result of the accident.
Liability has since been accepted by the van’s driver; the client has been awarded £14,000 in personal injury compensation.
If you have ever suffered a similar personal injury, you could be entitled to make a similar compensation claim. If this is the case, do not hesitate in seeking out a competent professional who will help you with your case.
