No win no fee compensation awarded to financial analyst
A financial analyst who has been left with severe brain-damage following a routine procedure, investigating a cough, which was botched, now stands to receive up to £3m in compensation claims, following a no win, no fee trial.
He lady who is 54 years old, now has to be fed through a tube, as well as requiring round-the-clock care. Following an ongoing legal battle, which dragged on for 9 years, the ladies husband Anthony has finally been able to get the case settled at London’s High Court.
The lady who was formerly a consultant with the firm KPMG, never anticipated how her life would be changed by the procedure when being admitted to a private hospital in
Surrey, to undergo a routine procedure investigating a persistent cough. The procedure was expected to last little more than 10 minutes under general anaesthetic. However, during the procedure, she underwent a cardiac arrest, which left her technically dead for as long as 38 minutes, damaging 75% of her brain through oxygen starvation.
It is expected that the compensation money will go some way towards making her life under care easier and more comfortable, which is the best that can be hoped for under the circumstances.
