Pensioner to seek compensation for burns
A pensioner who sustained severe burns which caused severe scarring following a fire which occurred at his home could now be entitled to seek a claim for personal injury compensation.
The man, 65 years of age, suffered from severe burns to his legs and his chest after a fire broke out at his Blackpool.
He was rescued by 2 of his friends, who had to smash a window in order to reach him. He was rushed to Hospital for treatment. The hospital has one of the busiest accident and emergency departments in the country; it employs more than 3,000 people.
While the cause of the fire is not at this point being treated as suspicious by authorities, there is still a possibility that the man could decide to pursue damages. It remains to be seen as of yet if the fire was caused by something over which he had no control; if so, he could decide to pursue a claim for compensation.
The Fire Station’s watch manager, said: “Paramedics worked on him for some time before he was taken to hospital.”
