Free hearing tests to factory workers for compensation claims

Former factory workers who had their hearing impaired due to noises in their work environment have a cause to celebrate.

It appears that these workers could be in line for thousands of pounds in compensation claims.

These former workers have been urged to attend a free clinic in Crewe by a set of injury lawyers and no win no fee lawyers.

The group of lawyers helped more than 100 ex-potters last year in Stoke-on-Trent to win similar compensation claims. The claimants secured as much as £10,000.

Injury lawyers have urged older and retired workers who were subjected to high levels of noise during the 1970s and 1980s, and are currently suffering hearing loss to come forward.

The process is simple: the results from a five-minute hearing test will help the lawyers to determine whether a claim can be made.

Workers would need documents supporting their claim that they were exposed to more than 80 decibels of noise at work.

"Many workers who experienced hearing loss while working in extremely noisy environments have simply had to put up with it. Often people suffer in silence and don't believe they have a right to compensation," said one no win no fee lawyer.
