Worker awarded no win no fee musculoskeletal injury payout

A 36-year-old man who developed a musculoskeletal back injury as a result of years spent lifting heavy goods in a storage warehouse, has won an undisclosed sum of no win no fee compensation.

The claimant, who lives in Greater Manchester with his wife and two daughters, first became aware of the personal injury in late 2007, and instructed injury lawyers the following year after failing in his attempt to return to work.

The case was settled after protracted out-of-court negotiations with the liability insurance company of the man's former employer.

According to the health and safety executive, there are around 10,000 reported workplace accidents each year suffered by haulage, storage and warehouse workers, with 1,700 of these being classed as serious.

"Work related accidents are all too frequent as we can see from the statistics. Workplaces can be the scene of many work related accidents including machinery accidents, serious falls and transport accidents," commented the no win no fee solicitor who handled the back injury claim.
