Woman wins compensation for long term care
A woman who was was severely injured, along with her husband, in a high-speed car collision in January 2005 has been awarded a seven figure compensation settlement.
The driver, who suffered a stroke after the accident, was travelling home when her car was struck by a driver who lost control of his vehicle and careened in to the oncoming lane. The driver of the other car was fatally injured in the accident.
Lawyers representing the woman said that the man's insurers had not contested liability in the case. The legal team also noted that the woman had suffered severe injury in the incident and that the financial settlement would help provide long-term security for the woman and her husband.
The no win no fee solicitor dealing with the case said that the money was vital for long-term care and would include a lump sum with index-linked annual payments.
