Man receives whiplash damages for bus accident
A man from Kettering has won his whiplash claim after he recieved personal injury in a 2006 Wellingborough bus accident.
Describing the incident, the 51-year-old said: "I went to grab the handrail and when the driver braked, I went flying down the middle of the bus. I hit a bolt at the bottom of one of the handrails. I blacked out and came to under the windscreen."
On waking, the early education specialist discovered he had neck, back and hip pain, as well as deep flesh wounds.
Such was the extent of the man's injuries that he decided to put his career on hold and has, since then, been engaged in a lengthy pursuit for a compensation claim.
Now, more than four years after the date of the accident, he has succeeded in winning a settlement.
The claimant's lawyer commented: "This was a lengthy and very difficult claim but I was delighted that it was successful. It just shows that litigation can take a long time, but if you have a good claim you will get there in the end, particularly with good legal advice. It was more than your average whiplash claim."
