Injury lawyer helps widow claim compensation
A widow is seeking assistance from her husband’s former employees so that she can make a claim for compensation against his employer.
The man, who worked as an electrician was in his early sixties when he passed away in April this year as a result of mesothelioma, a disease that can be contacted from industrial working environments. He was diagnosed in December 2009.
The woman is now asking for her husband’s former colleagues from the London-based Electro Insulations firm to come forward and help her to make a successful claim.
Nick Greaves, a personal injury lawyer, who specialness with industrial diseases, said: “For the first three or four years of his employment. He worked on the company's main contract at Southall Gas Works dragging heavy cables over pipes lagged with asbestos.”
He also said: “This would cause the lagging to break apart and release asbestos fibres into the air to create what he termed a 'cloudy atmosphere'.
"The man would be breathing this toxic air the whole time he was working in what was a very confined and unventilated space, measuring only two or three feet high and four feet wide."
