Leaky fridge forces Bar-Maid to seek First-Aid

A University student is bringing forth a personal injury claim against her workplace. The 20 year old female, sustained injury due to the establishment refusing to follow basic health and safety regulations.

The student, who worked as a barmaid in her local pub whilst at university, slipped on water that had dispersed from a leaking bar fridge.

The student logged her accident in the designated accident book, where reports showed that numerous members of staff had injured themselves and complained about the hazard,informing the employer of the infringement on Health and Safety regulations.

As a result the young woman was kept in hospital for three weeks after slipping a disc in her back and suffering sever tissue and ligament damage. The female has been unable to return to work and has been told she will not be able to return to her kick boxing classes and tournaments for over a year.

Upon the claimant informing the employer of her plans to bring a claim the fridge was immediately replaced.

Health and Safety officials have stated and implemented that the establishment is to now to be monitored and inspected on a monthly basis by health and safety officials.

The claim is expected to be resolved within 3 weeks with an estimated payout of up to £6,000.
