Interior Designing company pays compensation to worker
A Stafford shire based Interior designer gets compensated by the design company after he was injured at work while refurbishing at a retail store in Hounslow.
The claimant got £23,392 as compensation and the company was fined for the neglect at work that caused the accident.
The job required the men to pour concrete to fill in an opening in the first floor of the shop which was left open following the removal of the stairs and an escalator.
The men had only just begun to pour the concrete when the temporary propping erected to support the underside of the decking, installed within the opening, collapsed. This caused the men to fall more than 4.8 metres to the floor below.
The men were taken to hospital, and suffered personal injury of a dislocated shoulder, another had a fractured pelvis.
