Man awarded after knee injury
A man has been awarded with compensation after a knee injury that was caused in a work accident. The man, who worked as an electrician for the council, was completing renovation work in an empty house.
As the man was climbing down the stairs in the house, he tripped on an exposed stair gripper and sustained a knee injury.
He went to hospital, soon after as his knee became painful for some time after the accident. It was here he found out that he had damaged the ligaments and cartilage in his knee.
The electrician had to take time off from work and this meant that he lost earnings. He also had difficulty with things such as driving and walking. The man took up a course of physiotherapy, but despite this, he was unable to work in his previous role and had to take on a lower paid job with the council.
He decided to seek a compensation claim and with the help of a no win no fee solicitor, he was awarded with a payout worth £62,000.
