Council to Pay £75,000 Compensation Claim Payout to Clubbers Injured At Wolverhampton Party

Six clubbers have won a massive compensation claim payout of worth £75,000 against Wolverhampton City Council for the injuries they suffered during an evening out at nightclub.

The clubbers suffered serious personal injuries when they slipped on spilled drinks and bottles that had been thrown on the floor during nightclub events that were being held at Wolverhampton Civic Hall between 2003 and 2006.

The claimants alleged the council of not taken the appropriate steps to ensure that the floors were kept clean; that drinks were kept away from the dance floor; and that sufficient cleaning and monitoring staff were employed.

So far, four of the injured clubbers had won their trials at Walsall County Council while the remaining two injured parties had been settled prior to going to trial.

The personal injury lawyers successfully won compensation claim for claimants that were awarded around £75,000 in compensation plus costs.

According to a legal expert at the law firm representing the claimants: “The fact that there were a number of incidents over a long timeframe undoubtedly helped us to demonstrate that there was lack of reasonable care shown towards the people attending these events, by the management on an on-going basis.”
