Man unsuccessful in his first attempt to claim compensation
A man whose life was ruined during a dream holiday is still hopeful to get compensation for his personal injuries.
The former soldier, received personal injury when he was holidaying on a cruise ship in December 2007.
The man, suffered third degree burns when he placed his bare feet onto the metal deck of the cruise ship. Cruising off the coast of Belize, the deck of ship was extremely hot that a layer of his skin came away from his foot as he tried to move.
He was immediately taken to the ship's infirmary for primary treatment.
He also received treatment in a hospital near his home in Tyneside to get relief from his condition but after his wound got infected, he had to go through an amputation from below the knee.
He started civil litigation against the cruise company, but his pesonal injury solicitors withdrew from the case saying that there was not enough evidence to prove that the cruise operator had been negligent.
The personal injury victim has now formed a new legal team to compete again for his compensation claim.
