Man compensated after work injury
A man has been awarded with a five figure sum of compensation, after he sustained a personal injury in a work accident.
The man, who is in his mid forties and from Hertfordshire, had been working at a printing press, which he had worked with for more than 20 years.
He explained that the accident occurred when his hand got caught in a part of the printing machinery saying that “As I put my left hand behind the plastic, the sticky material caught my arm and it was dragged down in and around the roll up to shoulder level.”
The man was taken to hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery to his arm. A week later, he underwent further surgery, this time to have metal plates inserted into his elbow.
He decided to seek compensation for the personal injuries that he sustained and sought advice from a personal injury lawyer.
With their help, the man was able to receive £90,000 as a compensation claim.
A spokesperson from the no win no fee legal firm that represented the man, said, ‘Due to the accident, my client has been left with a long-term disability which will significantly affect his earning capacity in the future.
“We are pleased that, following negotiations, we were successful with our arguments in this respect and secured this significant settlement.”
