Cruise passengers seek compensation
A number of passengers are preparing to launch legal cases in order the win compensation claims after they sustained personal injuries while holidaying on a cruise ship.
While on the luxury cruise, severe weather made the journey on the ship unstable and led to two travellers sustaining broken bones.
A personal injury lawyer who specialises with travel and international law spoke about the conditions during the storm and about the effects that it has on the ship saying that waves were crashing up to the 10th level of the ship leading to furniture and even passengers sliding dangerously around the cruise liner.
The injury lawyer also said: “While cruise operators cannot be held responsible for adverse weather conditions, they are duty bound to take reasonable care to ensure the safety of their passengers at all times.”
She added that: “If warnings as to the poor weather were not heeded, and if safety protocols such as securing heavy items as far as possible were not followed, then I would fully expect anyone injured in the incident to be making a claim for compensation.”
