Widow compensated after work accident
A woman has been awarded with a substantial sum of compensation after he husband was involved in a fatal work accident.
The man, who was in his fifties, at the time of the accident was employed by National Rail. He was hit by a fast moving train, while he was welding a train track near a busy station.
Speaking about the accident, the man’s widow said: “My husband always said it was a dangerous job and that things needed to change, yet Network Rail always insisted that safety was their number one priority. Despite this, he died doing the job he enjoyed, and I am still left wondering how it could have happened.”
The woman also added: “My husband’s death has affected the whole family, and it’s something we’ll never get over. When my husband died I lost a part of my life.”
The woman decided to seek a compensation claim because of the work accident.
