Compensation claim rejected by the German court
Airlines are not having a good time at the moment. Not only do they have to contend with the credit crunch and losing passengers who are tightening their purse strings in an attempt to save money, but out of the passengers they do have, some of them do not experience that ‘flying high’ feeling.
One example of this is a passenger who had flown with Ryanair, but has nothing good to say about the airline company. The customer was left stranded when Ryanair cancelled a return flight due to unsafe weather conditions in Jerez last October.
As a result, the traveller has filed for a compensation claim against the major company, of more than €1,600 but a German court has refused to pay out. The Simmern court found that bad weather hindered the plane from landing safely and Mother Nature presented a situation that the airline could not control.
Therefore, the passenger must now settle all costs linked to the case including those of Ryanair.
