Tom Cruise's company faces compensation claims
Valkyrie, the latest cinematic offering from the talented Tom Cruise has been hit yet again with another disaster. Extras and other actors taking part in the much-awaited release have launched a massive compensation claim against the production team of the film for injuries sustained while making the movie.
The movie is a historical creation based on the true story of the plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler. As a World War II based flick, it contains many stunts and explosions. It is during one of these dramatic scenes the actors were injured and needed hospital treatment.
It is Tom Cruise’s production company, United Artists Production, that is in the firing line and forced to make some sort of settlement. The settlement however has not yet received a response and it is thought that the actors that were injured will hold out for a sizable payout somewhere in the region of £5.5million.
Due to the many complications and unfortunate events that have troubled the stars Hollywood offering the release of this film has been pushed back twice. It is now due to be released December 8th 2008. It is unlikely that with Tom Cruise constantly gracing tabloid pages for his unusual personal life coupled with the negative coverage of this compensation claim will affect the films box office performance. There is just no such thing as bad publicity.
