The majority of claims were revealed to be for personal injury with 86 coming from south east Wales, 34 from the central and west areas and 11 from North Wales.
Personal injury claims were said to have originated from trust employees, patients and members of the public. They included a variety of events including traffic accidents.
The second most common claim was medical negligence of which south west Wales had five, central and west areas had 3 although none were recorded in north Wales.
It was revealed by Welsh Health Legal that the total number of clinical negligence cases is likely to cost the trust upwards of £4.8 million.Updated on 27/05/2008
