Man receives compensation after brain injury in car accident
A West Ealing man who suffered a serious brain injury following a car accident is now set to receive car accident compensation.
The man’s injuries came about after a hit-and-run incident involving a BMW driver. The car was said to be a luxury 5-litre model.
Luckily, the driver’s insurers were able to be traced just shortly after the incident, allowing the man to take the driver’s insurers to court for his no win no fee car accident compensation claim.
Liability in this case has been agreed to split; the driver accepts 75% of the liability for the accident, while the claimant is set to accept 25% liability.
The judge in the case has been quoted as believing the split of liability “entirely sensible”; however, he also stated that there remain “quite a number of issues” awaiting resolution.
Even accounting for the split of liability, the claimant is still speculated to receive as much as a 7-figure compensation claim, because he was so severely injured in the accident that he is expected to require constant care for the rest of his life.
The man’s lawyer has spoken about the case: “It has taken six years to get to this point today," he said, before going on to describe the man’s injuries as “life-changing and tragic”.
The settlement is currently being negotiated.
