Car accident compensation for Reading man
A father of 3 from Reading was recently successful in his car accident compensation claim, following an accident in which the man was struck while crossing a road.
The man, 43, who worked as a carpenter, had left the house to pick up some groceries from his local shop. When crossing the road on his way back home from the trip, he was hit by what has been described as a large vehicle, travelling much too fast.
After having struck the man, the vehicle’s driver simply sped off; the man lay there for some time before anyone was able to get help.
In hospital, it was determined that the man’s legs had been crushed so badly that he will not be able to walk again; he is confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life.
The vehicle was later traced to its owner, thanks to the description the man had given to the police. It later transpired in court that the driver had been drunk; he was fined a considerable amount.
After speaking to his union, the carpenter realised that he could make a no win, no fee car accident compensation claim. He got into touch with a firm of solicitors, who agreed to represent him.
The matter was settled quickly in court; the man is said to have received a substantial sum in compensation
