Ex-president involved in car accident
A vehicle transporting a former president to Yale University was involved in a minor car accident, it has been revealed.
The SUV transporting the national figure to the university was involved in a fender bender on the Merritt Parkway. State police said no one was injured.
A civilian car rear-ended the last car in the motorcade, which in turn crashed into the former president's Suburban.
The former president arrived at Yale on time and delivered a sweeping speech at Yale's Class Day, touching on education, the environment, health and other issues, while also mentioning his special connection to the university.
He commented on the minor collision: "It was one of those deals where everybody in the passing lane slowed down, and we all slowed down, and one person didn't. It happened to be the person behind us. It was just a fluke, we're fine," he said.
It is unknown if any compensation claims will be filed.
