Compensation claim in dispute after new evidence found

The £2million personal injury case hearing of a woman injured in a car accident, has been adjourned after new evidence was allegedly discovered.

The media analyst from Fulmer in Buckinghamshire, is being accused of ‘dishonestly exaggerating’ her symptoms in order to boost her payout.

The claimant, aged 36, suffered injuries including severe fractures to her left leg and right forearm in the crash in September 2006. Because of this, she required extensive surgery and rehabilitation in order to resume the use of the affected limbs.

However, her compensation claim against a 3rd party motorist is now being disputed by his insurers, who suggest that her injuries are not as serious as she is making them out to be.

David Meville, representing the insurance company, said that although they accept that she suffered "significant orthopaedic injuries", they believe that she would be capable of returning to work on a full-time basis.

He also claimed that private investigator evidence proves that she can walk without the aid of a crutch.

The claimant had been attempting to win £2million; £1.7million of which was for lost future earnings, whilst £185,000 was due to go on care for her horses.
