Man receives £300,000 after road accident
A man has received £300,000 in compensation after suffering from severe injuries to his back as a result of a car accident caused by another driver who had been under the influence of alcohol.
The man had been driving his vehicle in a road in Crawley, West Sussex when another vehicle collided into his head on in June 2006.
As a result, the man suffered from multiple injuries including four broken vertebrae, fractures to his hands and thighs and injuries to his head.
He required extensive hospital treatment and underwent a number of operations to have plates and pins inserted into his back.
He is now unable to walk without the aid of a stick and he claims to still be suffering from pains since the accident.
In a high court writ, the man claimed that the road accident had changed his life as he is now unable to return to work.
After filing a personal injury claim, the man’s claim was settled for £300,000 with the help of injury lawyers.
The driver of the other vehicle was given a four year driving ban and was convicted of drink driving.
