Woman wins compensation after serious car accident
A Maltese woman has been awarded over twenty thousand euros after she was run over in a car accident in 2007.
Simone Zammit, suffered a broken pelvis and leg along with severe friction burns in the incident, which led her to call in the help of an injury lawyer to help her claim compensation.
The driver of the car maintained that he hadn't been at fault for the accident, which he claimed was caused by a fork-lift truck driver nearby. The court heard from eyewitnesses though that the defendant had lost control of his vehicle which was the cause of the injuries.
Ms. Zammit was awarded €22,035.45 in damages, with medical experts testifying that she had a 33% physical disability as a result of the incident.
