Thievery, tragedy and trauma
With less than three weeks to go to Christmas another family has been plunged into the darkness known as mourning. Their 15 year old son was killed in a catastrophic accident involving a stolen car and some Speed Racer-style car manoeuvring. The arrival of the extra harsh weather in the UK has brought on the inevitable;
car accidents and heartbreak for their loved ones.
In this particular instance the 15 and 17 year old had stolen a Landrover Discovery and had taken it for a spin around the outskirts of Belfast, unfortunately it would be one of their last trips. Three other men have been arrested in relation to the accident and are currently helping the authorities establish the events surrounding the tragic incident.
Thomas Burns of South Antrim MLA said that “the family of this teenage boy are probably decent and hardworking and the mother and father are heartbroken that their child has been in a stolen car in the middle of the night and has been killed in it”.
