Compensation award after serious car accident

A Lancashire man has received a £500,000 settlement after he lost his arm in a serious
car accident in 2004.
Musavier Aqib Mubarek was a passenger in a car, which careened off the road and into a lamppost and after weeks of treatment at a hospital in Manchester it was decided that his arm would have to be surgically removed.
The insurance company of the driver agreed with Mr Mubarek's claims of extreme physical and emotional stress after the incident. Mr. Mubarek still suffers pain from the injury and still has flashbacks to accident.
“I was into cricket and had just joined a team, a month before the accident, I was into all kinds of sports. It has been difficult and a really testing time. When I am awake I am in constant pain and still suffer flashbacks from that night.” He said.
His Lawyer Nadeem Bukhari welcomed the result, “He is very pleased with the outcome of the case and he is now in the process of re-planning his future with the sizeable settlement award.”Updated on 31/10/2008
