Family seek compensation after bus crash
It has been revealed that the family of a man who died in a bus crash have filed an bus accident claim.
The relatives of the mechanic from Inverness, have filed a compensation claim on behalf of the victim.
The car accident occurred when the bus he was travelling on collided into a parked lorry trailer. As a result, the family are suing the haulage firm and the coach driver for more than £2 million.
The victim, 37, was at the front of the moving bus carrying out a brake test shortly after 7am on October 17, 2008, when the incident happened. He died instantly in the collision with the stationary trailer.
It is thought that 12 people have taken part in the lawsuit and they are seeking damages ranging from £20,000 to £750,000.
Details of the action emerged this week, after a lengthy fatal accident inquiry into the crash at Longman Drive in Inverness, entered its concluding period.
The personal injury claim focuses on how the driver was at fault and negligent.
