Shop worker compensated after fall
A man has been compensated with tens of thousands of pounds after he suffered personal injuries in a work accident.
The man, who is in his mid sixties, worked in a fish and chip shop and at the time of the accident he had been placing stock into an overhead storage space. He then fell seven feet down to the ground, which caused him to rupture his spleen.
The man was taken to hospital for treatment where he had an operation to remove his spleen, which had been badly damaged in the fall.
A personal injury lawyer who specialises with work accidents and represented the man, said: "Prior to the incident my client was a hard-working and very active man.”
He also added: “Due to his employer's failure to ensure their premises were safe to work in, my client now lives a life of restricted mobility, anxiety and excessive tiredness."
The man was awarded with an accident claim worth £55,000 after he sought the help of the personal injury lawyer.
