Nightmare holiday compensation for families
Dozens of families are suing a travel agent for a nightmare holiday in Egypt, it has been revealed.
The high street holiday company has been inundated with accident claims by vacationers who state they received personal injury due to poor hotel standards.
The compensation claim suits allege that they contracted Salmonella and C difficile bugs while staying at the company’s all inclusive hotel, between May 2008 and January 2009.
More than 80 holiday goers suffered from vomiting, diarrhoea and gastro intestinal illnesses, due to terrible hygiene standards at the resort.
As a result, the High Court has received several writs – which state that the travel agent neglected to ensure health and safety standards were enforced and failed to monitor sickness among guests and staff.
Flies, missing soap, crowded and untidy stock in the dry store, chefs not wearing gloves and missing knife holders were included in the complaints list.
